A 52-year-old Cheyenne man is facing 20 years to life in prison for his alleged involvement in a shooting earlier this month.

Steven Brown was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department on Sunday on a warrant charging him with attempted second-degree murder and attempted burglary.

According to an affidavit, police were called to the 1000 block of Bent Avenue on July 15 after Charles Tarman observed Brown and his friend, 25-year-old Jordon Lucero, trying to steal a Ford F-250.

When Brown realized Tarman was watching them, he and Lucero got into a Dodge Durango driven by Brown and left the area.

Court records say when Tarman began following the Durango, Lucero fired a shotgun at him, hitting his front, driver's side fender.

Brown is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $500,000 cash bond.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1 at 9 a.m.
