Colorado Resident Killed in Crash Near Cheyenne
A 56-year-old Colorado resident is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash near Cheyenne early Friday morning.
Harley Chandler was pronounced dead at the scene despite wearing a seat belt, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Chandler was southbound on I-25 in a Chevrolet Silverado at 3:40 a.m. Friday. Near milepost 32, Chandler failed to negotiate a slight right curve in the roadway.
The pickup left the roadway to the left and entered the median, where it continued for about 100 yards before returning to the interstate. The vehicle then crossed both southbound lanes of travel and went off the roadway to the right.
Chandler overcorrected to the left and the Silverado went into a spin. The Silverado then rolled about two times and came to rest on its wheels.
Driver inattention is listed as a contributing factor in the crash. The roadway was dry and weather is listed as having been cloudy/overcast at the time of the incident.
