The tiny town of Carpenter, Wyo. will be celebrating Independence Day weekend with a big party. The Compound Sound Music, Camping and Arts Festival will be held July 4th through 6th at a private ranch 30 miles southeast of Cheyenne.

The recently announced lineup features 40 eclectic acts from around the region, including Boulder, Colo. based electronic artists SoDown and Jantsen, Disco Biscuits drummer Dr. Fameus, Denver rockers Eminence Ensemble, and Austin, Tex. based DJ Govinda. Cheyenne rapper Y-O is one of several local musicians performing at the festival, which will also feature local vendors, food trucks, and a yoga workshop.

Now in its 10th year, the "micro-festival" began as a party for a few friends and has grown to attract touring acts and fans from around the region.

“Since 2009 when we first set-up a stage and brought a PA system out to the prairie, we’ve known that something very unique and magical occurs on these grounds,” festival co-founder Matt Schulz told ShortGo. “Here in 2019, we are investing heavily to bring top-notch talent to the musically-hungry community and we couldn’t be more excited to share it,"

Tickets and camping passes for the three-day festival start at $75 and are on sale now.
