Cops Carry Torch For Special Olympics
About 40 members of a variety of law enforcement agencies held a torch run to mark the opening of the Wyoming Special Olympics Thursday morning in Cheyenne.
Torch run spokesman Zack Johnson said representatives of local, state and federal agencies ranging from the Cheyenne Police Department to the U.S. Marshall's Service took part in the 1 1/2 mile run from Storey Gym to the Wyoming Capitol Building, where they were greeted by Governor Matt Mead.
The Wyoming Special Olympics are scheduled to get underway tonight in Laramie.
