Chuck Geiger, Townsquare Media[/caption]The store will open to special guests on October 1 and everyone else like you and I will have to wait. The store is actually in the community of Timnath.

Costco is almost ready to open at I-25 and Harmony Road across from the Wal-Mart Super center and they might not be to happy about that. Folks in Cheyenne that frequent Costco have had to drive to the Thornton, CO store much farther.

The Timnath store would be the first Costco in Northern Colorado and represents significant competition for Sam's Club, the wholesale, members-only Wal-Mart affiliate on Harmony Road in Fort Collins and on Loveland's Eisenhower Boulevard.

The Timnath Costco is expected to create about 120 full-time construction jobs and employ about 200 full-time workers when it opens. Site plans show a 148,000-square-foot food store, tire center, liquor store and gas station on 13.16 acres with six additional pads for future development. A basic annual membership is $55.
