No one really wants to see it happen, but it has to happen. Old downtown Shoshoni is finally being demolished. The entire downtown area is empty and falling apart. It has become a safety hazard.

It's only one city block with buildings crammed in on either side. A perfect little Wyoming downtown at one time. But the vacant buildings on the east side were a safety risk according to Shoshoni Mayor Scott Peters. The mayor hopes that the land is good real estate and that someone will come in and fill the empty spaces.

Originally scheduled for August 2018 the demolishing was delayed until the obligatory paperwork cold be filled out.

The news website County 10 was the first to publish these pictures of the first building to come down.
