The Broncos backfield just got another added boost when the team announced that they were bringing back running back Melvin Gordon for another year.

He and rookie Javonte Williams combined for over 1800 yards and 12 touchdowns last year and that without a true threat at quarterback like Russell Wilson leading the offense.

Many fans have pointed to Gordon's untimely fumbling issues as something they don't want to deal with and while that was certainly an issue during a couple of games that proved very costly, in the two years that Gordon has been in the backfield, he's amassed almost 2000 yards on the ground, added about 400 more through receiving and has scored 20 touchdowns.

Personally, I thought Gordon and Williams were a dynamic pair to watch, a thunder and lightning combo with rookie Javonte Williams providing the thunder running over people seemingly every week and Gordon's speed to go along with his power as well, that is one heck of a backfield.

Another cool side note to this resigning is the fact that Gordon and Russell Wilson were teammates for a year in college at Wisconsin.

So yeah, Russ is pretty happy to have Gordon coming back.
