Drunk Idiot Arrested For Impersonating Sheriff Longmire

Every year thousands of Longmire fans make the pilgrimage to Buffalo, Wyoming. Now we have our first real police report of a guy claiming he is Walt Longmire.

Last week, police in Athens, Georgia got a call from a man who claimed to be a Sheriff Longmire, and he requested backup for a murder case. He also asked to speak with an Officer Ferguson (Longmire’s TV partner).

To make a Longmire story short, this “Longmire” was found at a local bar, where the real law asked for ID, and found under age drinking.

The arrest included impersonating an officer, and unlawful conduct on a 911 call.

Police did recognize the fictitious names. Are they, themselves, fans of the show?
