For the third year in a row, Emma was the most popular name for baby girls in Wyoming in 2018.

Meanwhile, Oliver was the top choice of Wyoming parents for baby boys in the Cowboy State last year, according to the state Vital Statistics Services. Following Emma on the list of popular girls' names were Amelia, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Harper.

The boys top five after Oliver included Jackson and Logan, which tied for second. Wyatt and Theodore came in fourth and fifth on the list. The other notable fact to come out of the report was a continuing trend of declining births in Wyoming.

Only 6,551 babies were born in the state in 2018, the lowest number in over 15 years. By comparison, deaths in the state increased from 4,767 in 2017 to 5,069 last year.
