Festival Of Trees Underway In Laramie County Courthouse

The Festival of Trees celebration is underway in the Laramie County Governmental Complex.

Laramie County Commissioner Linda Heath says 13 trees are on display in the courthouse atrium through Dec. 8.

Heath says the trees were donated and decorated by various county employees as well as county commissioners, all at their own expense. She says all of the trees will be donated to Wyoming Army and Air National Guard families who have family members deployed overseas.

Heath also says people can vote for the ''People's Choice Award'' for their favorite tree by dropping money into jars representing each tree in the Treasurer's office.

The money collected will go to the Kiwanis Friday food bag foundation. That effort sends bags of food home with local kids who may not have much to eat over the weekend.
