This Wyoming film crew is hoping to pave the way for filmmakers and actors across the state.

Sheridan is about to get gory. A small group of filmmakers have started production on a horror film that is shot in the peaceful, charming town. The goal is not only to make a great film, but to open up more opportunities for future filmmakers.

According to the Sheridan Press, Stephen Logan and Jeffery Johnathin want a Wyoming Screen Actors Guild.

The lack of such a guild has prevented local actors and actresses from being cast in feature films. Making an independent film will demonstrate the cinematic talent in the Cowboys state. It's the first step in creating a local Screen Actors Guild, thus solidifying the legitimacy of film making in our state.

Their project is a horror film that promises to be a slasher like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
