On May 26, 2019, Pamela Torres, a United States Marine, will set out to run 161 miles from Cheyenne to Rawlins, Wyoming in honor of the 161 women who have died supporting combat operations since 9/11.

"This run is not just ground distance covered, but lives lost. I want to offer peace of mind or a sense of hope to all the friends and family these ladies left behind, that their loved ones legacy still lives on. Someone will always remember them and their sacrifice," says  GySgt Pamela Torres.

There is still time if you are interested in running too. Valor Run, Inc. works with runners interested in completing their own 161-mile tribute run in remembrance of the 161 women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan during combat operations in the Global War on Terror. The location, time and duration of the event is completely up to the individual runner. Runners must have significant marathon or ultra running experience and should allow a minimum of six months for planning and training. Do you have a friend as crazy as you who also wants to run? You may run this together, but each runner must complete the 161 miles. It is not a relay. This is a once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing experience, but it is not for everyone. It will consume you.
