Heroes Of The West: Lewis & Clark Presented [VIDEO]
On May 14th of 1804, Explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out on an amazing expedition across the Louisiana Territory at the request of President Thomas Jefferson to open up this great wilderness and discover what lay in the unknown lands. They suspected there may even be Woolly Mammoths and other prehistoric creatures.
Lewis & Clark bravely opened the west against tremendous odds and we owe them for helping to open up this great country. Dr. Gary Moulton of The University of Nebraska will discuss their experiences with and their influences on the Native Americans they encountered along the way in a free presentation, thanks to the Wyoming Humanities Council.
Teens and adults can attend this activity from 6:30 – 8:30, Thursday, January 29th in The Cottonwood Room of the Laramie County Library, 2200 Pioneer Avenue, Cheyenne. Find out more at 307-634-3561.
