Dent spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Denver University.

While with the Pioneers, Dent helped lead a pair of student-athletes to All-Summit League honors in each of the past two seasons. In her first season at DU, Dent helped the Pioneer offense to 8.4 3-pointers made per contest, which ranked 18th in the nation. Prior to arriving in Denver, Dent spent the 2021-22 season at Northern Colorado.

Before arriving to Greeley, Dent spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Regis. Additionally, Dent has high school coaching experience at Cheyenne Central High School.

A 2016 graduate from Wyoming, Dent was a 2015 WBCA Honorable Mention All-America honoree and was a two-time All-Mountain West Team selection. Dent is 17th in program history with 1,337 career points and is second all time with 514 career assists.

Dent is the only former player in program history to have at least 1,000 career points, 500 career assists and 175 career steals.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree.

From 1983-88, Dent's father, Sean Dent, capped his Wyoming basketball career with 502 assists, the most in program history. That record wasn't broken until 2023 when Hunter Maldonado's final tally reached 630.

Dent, who was inducted into the UW Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018, still leads the Cowboys in steals with 249. That's how you earn the nickname "Prince of Pilfer."

Along with Fennis Dembo and Eric Leckner, Dent helped lead the Cowboys to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and a runner-up in the NIT. The team also claimed consecutive WAC Tournament titles in 1987-88.

Marquelle Dent's brother, Terrance Dent, was also a guard at Laramie County Community College and Weber State after a standout career at Mullen High School in Denver.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
