Rants & Raves: UNLV Edition
LAS VEGAS, Nev., -- Wyoming needed a win tonight inside Allegiant Stadium to have any shot of playing in next Month's Mountain West championship game.
So, how did the visitors respond?
* Spotted UNLV 21 first-quarter points
* Fumbled on the second possession of the night
* Punted four times
* Tossed an interception at the goal line
And that was just the first half. The latter was the real killer. After going down by three touchdowns, the Cowboys recovered a fumble on a quarterback-center exchange. Andrew Peasley quickly turned that into points with a 32-yard jaunt into the end zone early in the second quarter.
A turnover on downs two drives later once again gave Wyoming life.
Peasley and Co. marched 52 yards on 11 plays and wide receiver Wyatt Wieland took a jet sweep into the black paint.

This was a seven-point game with 2:58 remaining in the second quarter.
The Cowboys again found themselves on the march again on their next offensive possession. That included a 13-yard throw to Treyton Welch, followed by a 28-yard hookup with Wieland. Ayir Asante snagged a six-yard slant pass on a 3rd-and-5, and Wieland rolled up 19 more.
Peasley and Wieland appeared to be locked in.
Then, this happened:
Cam Oliver put a halt to any hope of a comeback with that interception. Wyoming would go quietly into the night, dropping its fourth road game of the season in as many tries. Under Craig Bohl, this program is 18-51 away from home.
