Get Ready For The Wing Ding At The Casper Shrine Club
Every August, there's an event that's become a Casper favorite. The 7th Annual Casper Shrine Club's Wind Ding!
The parking lot to the Shrine Club turns into the largest chicken wing eating event in town, and brings out the best-of-the-best chicken wing cooks.
10 teams will be competing to be the Wing Ding wing-making Champion.
Making chicken wings isn't as easy as it sounds, especially if you're making over 120 pounds of wings. You have to stay consistent and offer different options if you're going to win over the crowd.
Hot wings, mild wings, exotic wings, burn your face off wings, get on your hands and knees and vomit hot wings, or a super-secret style of wings can all be found at the Wing Ding. You're going to see them all, and if you're lucky, you'll find your new favorite flavor of wings.
If I've learned anything from the last few years, it's that people love to play the role of Mad Scientist in the kitchen and come up with great combinations.
Mark your calendar for this Saturday, August 23, to check out this year's event. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for kids 12 & under. There's the popular "Chicken $#!* Bingo" (which is fun for the whole family), and giveaways all day.
Don't forget that there will be cold beer, drinks, and plenty of napkins at the all-you-can-eat Wing Ding. Bring out the family, and spend the afternoon with the Casper Shrine Club.
Grab your Rolaids and plan to eat your weight in wings.
