See A Couple Of Wyoming Football Legends In Buffalo, NY
Once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy. The connection for those who come to Wyoming to be a part of the University of Wyoming football program is a strong one.
That connection was front and center when the NFL's reigning MVP, Josh Allen, was visited by the man who got his career rolling: former Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl. Bohl visited Josh at the Buffalo Bills training center this week.
We've all heard the story about Josh not getting any DI offers out of high school, but a year at Reedley College in California and a desire to continue to play football at a high level caught the eye of Bohl, who gave Josh the only DI offer.
Bohl has said that his instincts told him that there was greatness to Allen, and it may take a little bit to develop. Thank goodness he listened to those instincts. Seeing that greatness in #17 made a lasting impact on both of them and Wyoming football as a whole.
In an interview at the camp meeting, Bohl said he reflects by the fire with a whiskey and thinks "that's the MVP of the NFL right there."
On September 5, Josh Allen will be one of the seven honorees to be inducted into the University of Wyoming Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Allen, along with fellow former Cowboy Football players Casey Bramlet and John Wendling, as well as UW WBB's Lori Kline Waddell, UW MBB's Curt Jimerson, UW Baseball's Mike Mulvaney, and UW Wrestler Hugh Lowman, will all be inducted into the elite group of former UW standouts.
The 32nd annual induction ceremony will be held at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center on campus on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025. A total of 196 individuals and 25 teams have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since its inception in 1993.
