Many outdoor enthusiasts are concerned about the decline of Mule Deer in the Western U.S. states. Over the last thirty years, the population of Mule Deer in Wyoming has dropped considerably.

WGFD shows that in 1991, there were an estimated 578,000 Mule Deer in Wyoming, but that number dropped to 216,000 in 2023.

Those numbers are alarming. We don't want to see the Mule Deer disappear; luckily, some organizations are working to prevent that.

One of those organizations is The Mule Deer Foundation of Wyoming.

An organization dedicated to protecting the habitat, population, and hunting heritage of Mule Deer in Wyoming.

One way they continue their mission of protecting and encouraging the growth of Mule Deer herds is by holding a series of annual fundraising banquets.

Fundraising banquet season in Wyoming is about to begin. The Mule Deer Foundation of Wyoming will hold its first banquet on January 25 at The Hangar in Bar Nunn.

Tickets to the banquet are available now. They range from $25 for a youth dinner to $5,000 for a banquet sponsor table for eight people. Raffle ticket packages, a live and silent auction, and prizes will be handed out throughout the evening.

These banquets are intended to raise money and encourage Mule Deer lovers to unite and continue the mission of helping and bringing the mule deer population together. The event is family-friendly, so bringing the next generation of Mule Deer enthusiasts is encouraged.

If you purchase your tickets before January 16, you will be entered into an Early Bird drawing for a .45 LC Revolver.
