When you're approaching the end of your high school career, there are a few things you have to do. One of the most important is to figure out what you're life after high school looks like.

You have many choices, like college, trade school, military, or head right into the working world. It's up to you, but lots of kids will choose college and will begin working on getting into the college of their dreams as soon as possible.

One option to help you get into that college is to take the SAT Exam, and according to research, Wyoming has some of the best scores in the country. Wyoming only sits behind Kansas' 1256 for the overall best score with a 1253.

1253 is an impressive score, BUT, there's a flaw with that number.

Wyoming doesn't require students to take the SATs. According to the Princeton Review, only 1% of Wyomingites are taking the exam. In 2024, there were only 84 kids in Wyoming who took the exam.

Only North Dakota had a lower number of students taking the SATs, with 58. The good news is that Wyoming has a better overall score than North Dakota by 21 points. 1250 to 1239.

According to Horizon Education:

Currently, there are 10 states that require the SAT for graduation. These states are Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. There are several states where the SAT is not required, but the state provides funding for an SAT School Day, a day when students take the test for free at school. These states include Idaho, Maine, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, as well as Washington, D.C.

If you have a student who will be looking at taking the SAT sometime in the next school year, you can find the closest testing location on the Location Search at satsuite.collegeboard.org

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
