Albany County Deputies Chase Down Wanted Man Tuesday Afternoon

A man wanted on several charges in Larimer County, Colorado is behind bars at the Albany County Detention Center following his arrest on Tuesday afternoon.

That's according to the Albany County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

According to the post, the sheriff's office had been notified by Fort Collins Police that Joshua Nelson, wanted on felony charges in Larimer County, was believed to be in the Laramie area. Deputies learned that Nelson was in the area of Pierce and Taylor at around 3 p.m. Nelson was considered to be violent and dangerous, according to the post. When he saw deputies in the area he ran off, and a foot chase started.

Kyle Bryant told deputies that a man matching Nelson's description had just run through his yard as the chase continued.

Nelson Is Spotted In Chicken Coop Before Fleeing Again

The Laramie Police Department was enlisted to help with the search for Nelson. About half an hour later, Patricia Miles saw Nelson in her chicken coop. He fled the scene as she notified deputies.

The foot pursuit continued as other people helped point deputies in the right direction. They finally caught him in the 1700 Block of Wyoming Avenue.

According to the post, ''Nelson was arrested on a Larimer County Felony Warrant for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Albany County Felony Warrant for Probation Revocation; Aggravated Eluding, Interference, and Reckless Endangering, and a Municipal Court Warrant for Failure to Comply-Shoplifting.''

He was sent to the Albany County Detention Center to await extradition on the Colorado felony warrants and arraignment on two local warrants, according to the post.
