Crews Working to Contain Wildfire in Northeast Albany County
Crews are working to contain a wildfire that's burned an estimated 75 to 100 acres primarily on private land in northeast Albany County, the Albany County Sheriff's Office says.
According to a department Facebook post, crews were called to the fire near Ashley Creek and Palmer Canyon, now named the Reese Mountain Fire, around 10:48 a.m.

"A U.S. Forest Service smokejumper crew—eight highly trained firefighters—parachuted in from the Laramie Regional Airport," the post reads. "Four single-engine air tankers and two large air tankers dropped fire retardant and water, while ground crews built fire lines to protect nearby homes."
The Sheriff's Office says about 40 personnel are still working in the area.
They say no structures have been damaged, and containment is expected by Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Fire Believed to Be Human Caused
"The cause remains under investigation, but early indications suggest it was human-caused," the post reads.
The Sheriff's Office says crews will remain on site to ensure the fire stays under control.
