The City of Laramie has temporarily closed Second Street in Downtown Laramie between Ivinson and University Avenues. Detours are in place.

The closure is from today, Wednesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, for the installation of a fire suppression system.

City crews are connecting a downtown business to the water main, which involves excavating a portion of Second Street.

The Third Street Rehabilitation Project is still underway, in its last main high-impact segment. The intersection at Third and Grand has been partially opened; pedestrians and drivers are now able to travel west on Grand through Third Street to access downtown.

Third Street is closed just south of Grand Avenue to Sheridan Street, with Sheridan still accessible to traffic. According to the city of Laramie, this last large four-block section from Grand to Sheridan should be completed and paved by Nov. 1.

Additionally, water main repairs will be made in the areas of the 3rd Street and Baker Street intersection as well as the 3rd Street and Fetterman Street Intersection, according to the City of Laramie's website for 2023 construction projects, which can be found here.
