The state's prep basketball teams have been busy lately with those regional tournaments right around the corner. In 4A boys play on Saturday, #2 Laramie outlasted Sheridan on the road in overtime 83-81. It was close from start to finish with Laramie prevailing thanks to sharp perimeter shooting. Neil Summers led the Plainsmen with 27 points and Gabe Sanchez added 19. Laramie hit 10 3-pointers in the contest and missed just one free throw out of 16 attempts as they got to 15-2 on the year. Sheridan was paced by Garrett Spielman with 26 and Cael Hamrick had 14. The Broncs dropped to 12-6 on the year.

In the girls' game, Sheridan jumped out to an 11-point lead after one-quarter of play and then watched Laramie have an 11-point edge in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Broncs held on to win 52-26 so they are 14-4 on the season. Sheridan's leading scorer was Mesa Hanft with 22 with Adeline Burgess contributing 10. Addison Forry had 20 for the Lady Plainsmen and Kylin Shipman had 10. Laramie is 11-6 on the season.

Both Plainsmen teams will be at Cheyenne East on Thursday while both Sheridan teams will host Campbell County on Friday. We have a few photos to share from both of the Laramie-Sheridan games compliments of Jolie Fay and they can be found in our gallery below. Enjoy!
