Cheyenne East proved once again that they'll be a major factor in the 4A football championship race as they drilled Natrona at home 45-7 on Friday night. East took control of the game right from the git-go with 21 points in the 1st quarter. Quarterback Cam Hayes tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to David Hondel to make it 7-0. Then Hondel returned a punt 68 yards for another TD and Drew Jackson came through with a 14-yard run to the end zone.

Hayes threw another touchdown strike in the 2nd quarter to Nathan Mirich and Jackson had a 23-yard pic-six. Natrona's only score came in the 3rd quarter as Dawson Clark caught a 30-yard TD ball from Trig Berens.

East is 2-0 and has rung up over 40 points in each of the first 2 games. The T-Birds will have a challenging home game on Friday against Thunder Basin from Gillette. Natrona is 1-1 and will try and re-group this week with a big home game against Cheyenne Central.
