American Airlines Flight Evacuated on Denver Runway
What Happened During the Denver to Miami Flight?
On Saturday, July 26th passengers aboard an American Airlines flight from Denver to Miami had to be evacuated due to some sort of issue with the plane's landing gear, according to CBS.
Officials confirmed that the issue occurred while the plane was still on the runway.
All Passengers and Crew Members Made It Out Safely
Luckily, the 173 passengers and six crew members on board American Airlines Flight 3023 were able to leave the vessel safely.
One Passenger Hospitalized With Minor Injuries
Only one person had to be taken to the hospital after the chaos unfolded. There is no information that has been made publicly about the identity of this individual.
What we do know is that they only had minor injuries.
Some Passengers Allegedly Ignored Safety Protocol to Grab Luggage
In a report from Denver7, fire and smoke filled the cabin as the crew prepared for takeoff. Apparently, some passengers grabbed their carry on items even though the general aviation safety protocol indicates that you should do the opposite.
Even if your luggage does get damaged in a situation like this, the airline is responsible to compensate or replace your baggage, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
