There’s been a development in the tragic case that occurred at Horsetooth Reservoir over the weekend.

Missing Paddleboarder Reported on September 7th

On Sunday, September 7th, Larimer County officials received a report concerning a person who went missing in Horsetooth Reservoir, near Satanka Cove.

Possible Storm or Microburst Involved

Officials have confirmed that at around 3:30 PM a paddleboarder went missing near Satanka Cove. They believe that a possible storm or microburst played a major role in the disappearance.

There was another paddleboarder with this individual during the time of the incident. They were able to call for help and was rescued, according to reports.

The next day, crews continued their search for this individual. While not much is publicly known about the incident at this time (Tuesday, September 9th) officials have confirmed that there's been a break in the case.

Deceased Individual Found in Horsetooth Reservoir

Late on Monday (September 8th) night, a deceased person was discovered in Horsetooth Reservoir, reports confirm. This individual is believed to be the missing paddleboarder.

Larimer County officials will not release the victim’s name or the cause of death until a later time.
