“Outer Range” that strange time travel show from Amazon Prime Video that takes place in Wyoming, has been canceled.

OH COME ON! That really leaves us hanging on what was going to happen.

The first season came to us in 2022.

The second season was dropped on us all at once so we could binge-watch.

That's it. DONE!

The problem could have been the cost of production compared to how much money the show brought in. A good chunk of this might be actors' payroll.

Amazon does not release viewership numbers.

The show was popular and made it into the Nielsen Top 10 original streaming rankings, peaking at the number three spot in the week after its premiere.

Though critics don't really matter in the scheme of things, they did like the show.

Outer Range received a solid 85% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Unless they find a network that would like to bring it back like we saw with the Longmire series.

For those who have not seen it, the official description of the series states,

“‘Outer Range’ centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable phenomenon at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, in the form of a dark void. The mystery surrounding the enigmatic void on the west pasture of the Abbott family ranch deepens in Season Two, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Taylor) struggle to keep their family together in the aftermath of their granddaughter’s sudden disappearance. The stakes have never been higher for the Abbotts, who now face threats on multiple fronts.”

Season 2 of the Amazon Studios series Outer Range has been described as Yellowstone meets The X-Files with some Twin Peaks vibes.

That's accurate.

But when you see the Tetons in the background don't be fooled. They did not shoot this series in Wyoming.

They went to New Mexico and created the fictional town of Wabang in the fictional county of Amelia, Wyoming.

The main street of the Amelia County town of Wabang is actually Bridge Street in Las Vegas, NM.

The buildings are real. It's actually a town and there is no CGI.

The Bison Valley Bank of Wyoming branch is the Community 1st Bank at 518 Douglas Avenue, also in Las Vegas NM.

Hearing Douglas Ave. might make you think of Douglas, Wyoming.

It's not.

So, if you're wondering why the Tetons seem to be everywhere and they always look PERFECT- it's because they are added in later.

Outer Range Season is about the Abbott family and had us wondering what was going on through most of season one.

Season 2 of Outer Range is available to binge on Prime Video.

Star and director Josh Brolin told Collider's Steve Weintraub that they have more mysteries including alternate timelines.

Here is a trailer for season 2

It's been two years since the first season was released.

We all need a recap.

You can watch a recap in the video below.

The first trailer for Outer Ranger left viewers confused. X-Files, or perhaps even Twin Peaks, on a Wyoming Ranch? Who knows?

Thankfully, there is a big hole in the plot.

By "BIG HOLE IN THE PLOT" I mean the big mysterious hole that has opened up on the western archers on this Wyoming Ranch.

In this show, a viewer has to pay attention to the details. There are a lot of mysteries to unravel.

After watching the first two episodes the viewer is given a sense of direction for the story, but there is still plenty of mystery left to unpack.

It seems to have something to do with time.

At this point, there is no clue as to how or why the hole is there.

Now that Wyoming folks have had a chance to watch a little of it, let's see what they had to say. Their comments are below.
