Wyoming Has No Public Nuclear Fallout Shelters

The popular and classic video game Fallout is coming to Netflix as a TV series.

Fallout is a post-nuclear role-playing video game that began back in 1997.

It's a mid-22nd century post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic world, decades after a global nuclear war between the United States and China.

So, let's imagine that such a war actually happened.

Where in Wyoming could you go for a fallout shelter?

First, let's take a look at what parts of Wyoming would be hit by nuclear bombs.

As for an official fallout shelter that you could run to, you're out of luck.

Wyoming has never built nuclear fallout shelters for the general public.

If you're concerned and really want one, start digging.

Don't feel bad Wyoming, that's the case for most of the country.

The good news is that Wyoming has plenty of open spaces and mountain ranges for protection.

You can buy an old missile silow and build it into a house. But old missile silos are targets, even today, so, good luck with that.

In the Fallout game, players inhabit the underground nuclear shelter Vault 13.

Players will customize their character and then scour the wasteland for a computer chip that can fix the Vault's failed water supply system.

They interact with other survivors, some of whom give them missions, and engage in turn-based combat where they battle until their action points are depleted.

You can buy affordable, decommissioned missile silos in Wyoming.

Once again, please remember, that these places are still targeted by Russia and China.
