Brrr! Cheyenne Sees Coldest February 23rd in 129 Years
Rumor has it that the National Weather Service in Cheyenne is still looking for the freezer door that was left open overnight.
According to an agency Facebook post, the mercury at the Cheyenne airport plummeted to a bone-chilling minus 19 degrees Fahrenheit shortly before 5 o'clock Thursday morning.
"This has unofficially broken the daily record low of -13F set back in 1894," the post reads. "That breaks a 129 year old record for February 23rd."

The NWS says Scottsbluff, Nebraska broke its daily record low as well.
"The record low temperature of -13F for 2/23 occurred previously in 1993," the NWS said. "The unofficial morning low today is -20F."
