Cheyenne Kiwanis Stars Of Tommorrow Talent Show Coming Soon

The 70th annual Stars Of Tomorrow event is scheduled for April 28 in Cheyenne, according to a news release.

It's presented by the Kiwanis Club Of Cheyenne.

The talent show will feature performers ranging in age from kindergarten to high school seniors, according to event co-chair Lorrell Walter.

She adds “It’s rare for us to get the real little ones, because getting up on that stage takes courage and talent, which can be challenging for the younger children.”

A Wide Range Of Musical Acts Are Planned

Walter says the schedule for this year includes 26 acts with a total of 36 participants in three categories: high school, junior high, and elementary school.

She says acts run the gamut from piano to singing and lyrical to hip-hop dance.

Judges, including one who has appeared on Broadway, will select the top three winners in each category as well as an overall winner.

“First-place winners receive a cash award that goes to the school and is to be used by the school to enhance its performing arts department,” Walter said. “In many cases, administrators will allow the students to help influence how the funds are used.”

The talent show is slated for 2 p.m. at Cheyenne Central High School. Adult tickets will cost $10, with student tickets for all grades costing $5. Children under two will get in free.

The doors will open at 1:30 p.m.
