Cheyenne, Laramie Under Red Flag Fire Warning This Afternoon
Much of southeast Wyoming, including both Cheyenne and Laramie, is under a Red Flag Fire Warning from noon today until 8 p.m.
Hot, dry conditions and gusty winds of up to 40 miles per hour are expected to create critical fire conditions. That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
The agency posted the following on its website:
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for much of southeast Wyoming from noon Tuesday through 8pm Tuesday. Gusty winds between 30 and 40 mph with humidity values dropping into the single digits are expected. Fires will start more easily and spread quicker under these conditions. Avoid outdoor burning!
