Cheyenne Man Accused of Pointing Shotgun at Ex-Lover

A 19-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly pointing a shotgun at his ex-lover.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to Jordan Dersham's home shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, for an assault with a gun.

Police say the victim stated she'd had dinner with other residents at the location, had been invited over to the house, and had been there about 15 to 20 minutes when Dersham arrived.

When Dersham saw her, he reportedly became agitated, cussing and yelling at her about why she was there.

Police say the victim and Dersham were in a sexual romantic relationship for approximately one week which had ended a few weeks prior.

Dersham reportedly grabbed his keys and left the house, then returned a short time later holding a long, black gun.

The victim reportedly told police that she saw Dersham rack the gun and point it at her, telling her to get out of the house and that she was afraid Dersham was going to shoot her.

She said Dersham then threw the gun with his right hand, grabbed her right arm, and began to pull her from the house, telling her to get out, when another male in the house started fighting with Dersham in front of the front door.

The victim reportedly told police that the two were fighting for a few minutes before moving from in front of the door, allowing her to leave the house, at which point she called 911.

Police say the victim had red marks consistent with being grabbed on her lower right forearm, and the gun she described matched that of a black and green bullpup-style shotgun that they saw on Dersham's bedroom floor.

Police say Dersham admitted to grabbing the gun and entering the house but denied pointing the gun at the victim.

He also reportedly admitted to placing his right hand on her back and pushing her towards the door to get her to leave.

Dersham was subsequently arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor domestic battery.

He's out of jail on a $5,000 cash at 10% bond and is scheduled to be back in Laramie County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 4 at 10 a.m.
