Cheyenne-based meteorologist Don Day Jr. says Cheyenne recorded an overnight low of -26 degrees and a wind chill of -51.

Laramie was not much warmer with a low of -24 and a wind chill -48. But as Day told Townsquare Media this morning: " could be worse -42 in Casper this morning," That's an all-time low for Casper.

Day is the founder and President of Dayweather Inc.

Day said the Casper wind chill was -65.

And it wasn't just Cheyenne, Casper and Laramie that were plunged into a deeo freeze either. The National Weather Service says a -38 was recorded near Glenrock, along with a plethora of temperatures well below zero:

It wont' be getting much warmer today, with highs unlikely to break the zero mark and double-digit subzero low temps tonight, But things should start to warm up somewhat on Friday and highs reaching the 30s by Christmas Day.
