Denver Man Facing Serious Charges After Alleged Target Theft
A 28-year-old Denver, Colorado man is facing felony charges in Laramie County after allegedly conspiring to commit theft.
Warrant
According to a booking sheet, on Thursday, Aug. 28, Mendez Yeimer-Alejandro was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on a warrant for felony theft and conspiracy, both crimes punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
It's alleged that on Dec. 28, 2024, Yeimer-Alejandro conspired with two others to commit theft and stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Target in Cheyenne.
Initial Court Appearance
On Friday, Aug. 29, Yeimer-Alejandro was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charges.
Chambers appointed Yeimer-Alejandro a public defender and asked for the state's bond recommendation.
"The state does not have a criminal history for the defendant at this time, however, due to the nature of the charges, the state has concern for the safety of the community as well as the defendant's ability to appear at later court dates due to his lack of ties to the community," the state said. "The state would recommend $3,000 cash."
Bond Set at $3K Cash
Chambers adopted the state's recommendation and Yeimer-Alejandro's preliminary hearing was set for Friday, Sept. 5, at 9:45 a.m.

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
