Cheyenne Man Charged With Strangling Stepdaughter’s Boyfriend
A 52-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his stepdaughter's boyfriend.
Domestic Disturbance Leads to Strangulation Charge for Cheyenne Man
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a Cheyenne residence at 10:36 p.m. last Thursday, Feb. 15, for a domestic disturbance.
Police say the victim told them that he got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend's stepfather, Cory Lynn Parramore, whom he'd been living with for about four and a half months, and that the argument turned physical when Parramore got up from the couch and got into his face.
The victim reportedly told police that he was afraid Parramore was going to punch him, so he struck Parramore on the right side of his forehead to get Parramore away from him.
Parramore then reportedly grabbed the victim by the neck with his right hand and began to squeeze the victim's Adam's apple, making it hard for him to breathe, and the victim again struck Parramore in the head to get him away from him.
Police say the victim had scratch marks and redness on both sides of his neck and around his Adam's apple from where Parramore grabbed him.
Cheyenne Police Say Parramore's Breath Smelled of Alchohol
When questioned about the incident, police say Parramore, whose breath smelled of alcohol and whose speech was slurred, kept changing his story.
Parramore was arrested and taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for jail clearance and later booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and charged with strangulation, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Parramore made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Feb. 16, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m.
