A 37-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly threatening a person with a gun.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to a domestic physical with a gun at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, 2024, but when they arrived at the residence, no one answered the door or responded to their call outs.

Police say the suspect, later identified as Michael Christopher Gutierrez, agreed to come outside over the phone and walked out of the residence with his hands above his head.

Gutierrez was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center, and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Police say Gutierrez also had a warrant out of Platte County.

Bond Set at $5K Cash

Gutierrez made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Aug. 19, 2024, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 28, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
