Wanted Cheyenne Man Turns Himself In
According to a booking sheet, 21-year-old Cheyenne resident Noah Juan Salazar turned himself in at the Laramie County Detention Center at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Salazar had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee signed the warrant on Aug. 29.
Bond Set at $5K at 10%
Salazar made his initial appearance in Circuit Court Thursday afternoon, during which his bond was set at $5,000 at 10%, which he later posted, and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.
Case Background
Police spokeswoman Alex Farkas says according to statements, Salazar and three other occupants of a white sedan were traveling along Gardenia Drive near Pointe Park on July 21, and confronted a man who was walking down the sidewalk, later identified as 19-year-old Cheyenne resident William Nicholson.
"During the conflict, Salazar allegedly exited the vehicle and shot multiple times in the direction of Nicholson," said Farkas. "No injuries were reported."
Farkas says through ongoing investigative work, detectives learned that Salazar was the suspect.
"Salazar has been cooperative and has provided multiple statements to detectives at the police department," she said.
Farkas says Nicholson's current case appears to be unrelated.
