A 39-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly assaulting a pregnant lady at Walmart.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to a physical disturbance at the Walmart at 580 Livington Ave. at about 12:12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Police say it was determined that Edward John Lorenz got into a verbal altercation with a female, during which he reportedly charged himself at her, forcefully shoved her, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the floor, got up and began charging toward her again, and began fighting with her.

Police say multiple witnesses and a Walmart staff member joined in the fight to get Lorenz off the victim.

"During the altercation, the victim repeatedly told Lorenz to stop and that she was pregnant," the booking sheet reads. "The victim fought back in self-defense."

Caught on Camera

Police say video footage provided by Walmart confirmed the attack, and multiple statements from witnesses and those involved confirmed that Lorenz was made aware numerous times during the altercation that the victim was pregnant.

Police say Lorenz admitted that he remembered hearing the victim was pregnant, but claimed he didn't process it during the altercation, he processed it afterward.
