Cheyenne Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Meth Charge, 6 Misdemeanors

A 40-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing seven charges following a traffic stop in west Cheyenne.

According to a booking sheet, Jennifer Ann Hood was arrested at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, after police stopped her in the 1200 block of Foyer Avenue.

Police say when they asked Hood about not having any license plates on her vehicle, insurance, and her driver's license, Hood said she didn't have any of those items.

Police say Hood also falsely identified herself as Corinne Davenport.

Cheyenne Police Find Several Baggies of Meth, Marijuana During Traffic Stop

When police searched Hood's vehicle, they reportedly found several baggies of suspected methamphetamine and small containers of suspected marijuana.

They also reportedly found an ID card in Hood's wallet confirming her information.

Hood was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both.

She was also charged with six misdemeanors, including failure to maintain a lane, no liability insurance, no registration, possession of marijuana, interference with a peace officer - no injury, and driving under suspension - subsequent violations.

She made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday morning, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 26 at 9:45 a.m.
