The Walmart in southeast Cheyenne was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Suspicious Note Found in Bathroom

According to police spokeswoman Alex Farkas, officers were called to the store at 580 Livingston Ave. at about 2:30 p.m. after a suspicious note was found in the bathroom.

"The building was evacuated, and officers responded immediately to begin clearing," Farkas told KGAB Radio.

Farkas says a Laramie County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team specializing in explosive detection was also called in to conduct a sniff search.

No Bomb Found

"The building has been cleared, with no evidence of an explosive device," said Farkas.

Farkas says detectives are working to contact persons of interest, but no arrest has been made.
