A 54-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing multiple charges after he was reportedly caught with drugs after shoplifting from Walmart.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to the Walmart at 580 Livingston Ave. at 4:42 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2024, for a shoplifting complaint in which the suspect concealed merchandise.

Police arrived to find the suspect, who was later identified as Kenneth Barnes after reportedly falsely identifying himself as his brother, in the parking lot.

Police say all stolen items were recovered and were valued at less than $1,000.

When police searched Barnes, they reportedly found a fentanyl pill on him. Barnes also reportedly had two loaded syringes, which he admitted to being blood and crystal methamphetamine, in his backpack.

Police say the weight of the liquid from both syringes came out to be approximately 1.5 milliliters.
