A wanted Cheyenne man is behind bars following a report of a suspicious person.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to 1551 Oak Ct. at 3:13 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, for a report of a suspicious person.

Police contacted 37-year-old David Rojelio Aguirre Jr. and discovered he had a warrant out of Laramie County for felony check fraud.

The warrant was signed by Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on Jan. 29, 2024.

Alleged Cheyenne Fraudster Arrested

Aguirre was subsequently arrested on the warrant and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.

As of 12:40 p.m. Thursday, he had yet to be formally charged.

UPDATE:

Aguirre made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Thursday, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash at 10% and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, March 1, at 9:45 a.m.
