A 46-year-old Cheyenne transient likely wasn't "lovin' it" when deputies with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office contacted him in the McDonald's parking lot at 4000 W. College Dr. Wednesday morning.

According to a booking sheet, the department had received information that convicted sex offender John Frederick Lewis III was in Campbell County without registering with their office or the Campbell County Sheriff's Office.

Lewis had also reportedly missed several transient check-ins and his quarterly personal verification meeting (PVM) check-in.

Lewis was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for failure to register as a sex offender - subsequent violation, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a $1,000 fine, or both, and was reportedly verbally uncooperative.

He's scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this afternoon, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m.
