According to a fatality crash summary, Leonard Chambers was behind the wheel of a southbound Ford Ranger when he drove into the median, overcorrected to the right, struck a delineator post, re-entered the interstate in a driver's side slide, then overcorrected to the left, causing the pickup to rotate into a passenger-side slide, trip, and roll two times before coming to rest perpendicular to the interstate in the west ditch.

According to his obituary (see below), Chambers, who the Patrol says was wearing his seat belt, was taken to Banner Medical Center in Casper, where he passed away later that day.

His passenger was also reportedly injured in the crash, but the Patrol didn't say to what extent.

Driver Fatigue

The summary lists driver fatigue/asleep as a possible contributing factor.
