An 86-year-old Wyoming man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Kemmerer, police say.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at milepost 153.146 on Fossil Butte Drive.

According to a fatality crash summary from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Charles Luthy was behind the wheel of an eastbound GMC pickup when he gradually went off the right side of the road.

"The pickup struck a delineator post before impacting a raised dirt embankment," the summary reads. "The vehicle became airborne before landing and coming to an uncontrolled rest."

Luthy was not wearing his seat belt and died from his injuries.

Possible Medical Condition

The summary lists a possible medical condition as a possible contributing factor.

Luthy is the 15th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
