A spokesman for the Laramie County Sheriff's Office says formal charges are pending with the Laramie County District Attorney's Office in connection with a Saturday shooting incident that left a Colorado man wounded.

The incident happened at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at mile marker 2 on Highway 85 south of Cheyenne. Spokesman Brandon Warner says when deputies arrived they found a 49-year-old Colorado man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The suspect in the shooting, 29-year-old Bear Larkman of Cheyenne, had left the scene before deputies got there. Warner says investigators learned that the incident had arisen from a road rage confrontation between Larkman and the Colorado man.  Deputies called Larkman, who surrendered without incident at 5:30 p.m.

He was booked into the Laramie County jail on aggravated assault charges, according to Warner.

He says formal charges are pending through the District Attorney's Office. As of 3 p.m. Monday, those charges had not yet been filed.

Warner says the Colorado man, whose name has not been released, is so far not facing charges in connection with the incident. The incident is still under investigation.

Anyone who has information on the case is being asked to contact Detective Smale at 307-633-4732.
