Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range mountain ranges in southeast Wyoming.

Up to two feet of snow could fall above 9000 feet.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted this statement on its website on Monday evening:

A Winter Storm Warning in Carbon County, and Winter Weather Advisory for Carbon/Albany County are in effect for the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range, from 11PM Tonight to 11PM Wednesday. Expect periods of moderate to heavy snow and poor visibilities with wind gusts up to 50+ mph at times, especially Tuesday. Localized accumulations in the Sierra Madre Mountains above 9000 feet will see the highest snowfall totals between potentially 1-2 feet.

While Cheyenne and Laramie are likely to get some snow, total accumulations of an inch or less are expected.
