Phony Bitcoin Scam Reported In Wyoming
Police in Rock Springs are reporting a phony Bitcoin scam targeting businesses.
That's according to a post on the Rock Springs Police Department's Facebook page.
According to the post, a caller represents himself as either "from corporate" or as the business owner. The caller tells employees to take company money and deposit it into selected Bitcoin machines. The scammer has done some research and knows something about the targeted business and uses that knowledge to get the employees to trust him.
Businesses Are Being Urged To Warn Their Employees
Police are asking businesses to warn employees about the scam, and anyone who has been victimized is being asked to call police.
