Southeast Wyoming can expect cooler temperatures and possible storms for July 4.

Some storms later today [July 3] could be severe. A few storms are possible on July 4, but overall it looks like a nice day.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted the following on its website:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and into the overnight hours. A few storms could be severe. Overall, looking at nice weather for the holiday with cooler temperatures, and only a slight chance for a stray thunderstorm or two. Friday will be warmer and drier.
