Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Reports 80% Drop in Fatal Crashes
The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says its high visibility enforcement (HiVE) efforts are paying off.
The LCSO HiVE, which was started in 2023 to increase safety on the roadways, consists of multiple deputies swarming an area where there have been crashes or traffic complaints and stinging (stopping and ticketing) those who don't follow the rules of the road.

HiVE Efforts Result in Crash Reduction
According to crash data from the department's 2024 Annual Report released Tuesday, the efforts resulted in an 11.56% decrease in crashes, a 13.33% decrease in property damage crashes, and an 80% decrease in fatal crashes in 2024 compared to 2023.
The number of injury crashes in 2024 was up 2.70% from 2023.
